BSN All-America Teams

LORETTO, Pa. (Dec. 5, 2012) - Beyond Sports Network released its All-America teams Wednesday with Josh Thiel (Leesburg, Va./Heritage) of the Saint Francis University football team receiving second team honors.

Thiel posted the best season by a kicker in school history in 2012 by going 11-for-12 on field goal attempts and registering the longest kick in school history. The native of Leesburg, Va. went 9-of-10 on field goals from 30 or more yards and connected on a school-record long 50-yard field goal against CCSU. Thiel also saw some time on kickoffs for the Flash and posted a 59.8 yard average with five touchbacks, while also pulling off a successful onside kick.

The senior is one of two place kickers to make the second team. Five student-athletes from the Northeast Conference were selected to the list as well.

Thiel heads to the FCS Senior Scout Bowl in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Saturday, Dec. 15 with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
