LORETTO, Pa. (August 8, 2012) – The Saint Francis University football team reported to fall training camp on Sunday and started organized activities on Aug. 6.
Camp started with a run test for each player so that the coaching staff could gage the fitness level of the team upon its arrival on campus. The next two days were shifted to more football activities and slowly the pads started coming on for SFU. Both sides of the ball worked with their new coordinators and started installing the new parts of their respective playbooks. Will Martin made some very solid catches on the offensive side of the ball including a one handed grab near the sideline. The team as a whole worked out in two separate sessions due to the size of the team. The two sessions made it possible for the coaches to give more individual instruction to each player. All the players are working towards the team's first full scrimmage on Aug. 18. The countdown is also one till the team goes to full pads and full contact.
