Duquesne Game Notes
LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's basketball team heads to Pittsburgh for a Wednesday non-conference affair with the Duquesne Dukes. Tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Duquesne is Saint Francis' most common non-conference opponent. The two teams have met 74 times since a 42-17 Duquesne victory in January of 1914.

Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) is now just 23 points away from becoming the 39th Saint Francis men's basketball player to reach the 1,000-point plateau. Brown has five double-digit scoring outputs in the Flash's last six games and is averaging 16.7 points over his past three games. He will become the first 1,000-point scorer since Devin Sweetney (2006-10). Sweetney is currently in seventh place on the all-time list with 1,529 career points.

Hot ShotsThe Flash has outshot its opponents in five of its last six games while going 4-2 in those contests. At 46.6 percent, SFU has the highest shooting percentage in the NEC through Dec. 13. With a defensive field goal percentage of 43.1, the Flash is second in the NEC in that category.

From Beyond the ArcThe Flash hit 11 three-pointers against Albany, tying a season high. The Flash hit 21 total field goals in the game, marking the first time since Feb. 28, 2013, that the Flash had more than 50 percent of its made field goals from three-point range. SFU lost that game two seasons ago in overtime at Central Connecticut, 84-81. The Flash made 14 three pointers out of its 27 field goals.

SFU has hit at least eight three pointers four times so far this season in eight games. SFU pulled that off in 10 of 31 games last season. Saint Francis leads the NEC with 63 made three-pointers and a 37.7 three-point percentage.

Ben Millaud-Meunier (Montreal, Quebec/Vanier) had a season-high 4 three pointers against Albany and
Ollie Jackson (Dallas, Texas/Pinkston ) has made 9-of-12 three pointers over his past three games. Jackson was 6-for-8 at Navy and 3-for-4 against Albany. He didn't attempt a three at Lehigh.

Flash Defense Steps Up     Saint Francis held Albany to 36.5 shooting percentage, its second best effort this season and the top mark against a Div. I opponent. Albany also made just 3-of-22 three-point attempts (13.6 percent), the Flash's best perimeter defensive effort of the year. The Flash leads the NEC and is 17th in the country in three-point defense allowing just 26.5 percent.

Albany assisted on just five of its baskets against Saint Francis while committing 12 turnovers. That minus-7 assist/turnover ratio is the best for the Flash defense since matching that number in a loss to St. Francis Brooklyn last season, a span of 14 games.
Greg Brown (Odenton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) leads the NEC and is 17th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.63.

Long LayoffBecause of finals, the Red Flash's game at Duquesne will be its first game action in 11 days. After facing the Dukes on Wednesday and Rutgers on Saturday, the Flash will have another 10-day break until its next game at NJIT on Dec. 30. Starting with that game against NJIT, the Flash will play five games in 12 days. The Flash opens NEC play Jan. 3 at home against Wagner, the second game in that five-game stretch.
