Men’s Basketball Participating in Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge

3-Point Challenge

LORETTO, Pa. – Beginning in February, three-pointers by the Saint Francis Men's Basketball team will mean a little bit more.  The Red Flash is set to participate in the 2017 Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge.

Fans can support the cause by pledging an amount of money that will be donated for each three the Red Flash makes during the month of February.  Proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society to raise money for research and awareness.  The Red Flash will look to make as many threes as they can during its eight games in February.

Saint Francis is one of several basketball programs around the nation participating in the challenge, with the program who raises the most money being crowned the champion of the event.

During it's games against Wagner, on January 26, and Robert Morris, on January 28, the SFU coaching staff will be participating in "Suits and Sneakers Week".  SFU will also be wearing gold shoe laces as part of "Lace Up For Lacey" in honor of Lacey Holsworth, a Michigan State basketball fan who passed away in 2014 after battling cancer.

The Coaches vs. Cancer program empowers coaches, their teams and communities to join the fight against cancer by participating in awareness efforts, advocacy programs and fundraising activities to help people with cancer today and to find cures to end the disease tomorrow.
