Loretto, Pa. The Saint Francis women's cross-country team defeated Pitt-Johnstown to win first place at the Father Bede Invitational on a crisp Friday morning.
 
The Red Flash finished with 18 points and the Mountain Cats finished with 44 points.
 
Freshman Madison Wright (Eaton, Ohio/Twin Valley South) led all runners with a top time of 20:15.
 
Freshman Hannah Jones (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) grabbed second place for the Red Flash with a time of 20:29.
 
Sophomore Catie Jaskowak (Grove City, Pa./Grove City Area) and freshman Taya Whitfield (Marion Center, Pa./Marion Center) rounded out the top five with marks of 20:57 and 21:45.
 
The Red Flash are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 23. at the Ted Owen Invitational.
