Paige Smith earned her first Northeast Conference Player of the Week award after going 6-for-13, a .462 batting average to open her senior campaign. The Saugus, Calif. native helped the Red Flash pick up two wins to start the 2012 season with three runs scored, a double and two runs batted in. Smith had a hand in both of SFU’s runs against Central Michigan, doubling to center field to drive in Davina Kachnovitz and scoring a run herself on the very next play. Defensively, the senior outfielder registered nine put outs and did not commit a single error.
