Last week at the Purple Eagles Invitational hosted by Niagara University, freshman Mallory Cortis captured the first collegiate victory of her young career. The Chambersburg, Pa. native nearly recorded a hole-in-one on the final playoff hole of the invitational but settled for a tap-in birdie to take the win. Cortis carded a two-day total score of 163 (82-81) to qualify for the playoff against two other competitors from Youngstown State. For her strong play a week ago, Cortis was named Northeast Conference Women's Golfer of the Week.
