Saint Francis Places Four on Phil Steele’s 2011 Preseason All-Northeast Team

Harbridge named to first-team Preseason All-Northeast Team
LORETTO, Pa. (July 21, 2011) – The Saint Francis University football team placed four student-athletes on Phil Steele's 2011 Preseason All-Northeast Team with Kyle Harbridge (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) earning first-team honors as a kick returner. Harbridge is joined by second-team selections A.J. Alexander at wide receiver, defensive back Jakob DeMedal and Jordan Kelly (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Seton-La Salle Regional) on the offensive line.

Harbridge, a native of Easton, Pa., led the Red Flash a season ago in all-purpose yardage. The sophomore also ranks first in the Red Flash record book in kick return average with a mark of 24.7 and sits fourth all-time at Saint Francis with 937 career return yards. The junior running back also posted solid numbers out of the Red Flash backfield averaging 84.7 yards per game on the ground while rushing for five touchdowns. Harbridge was also a receiving threat ranking third on the team with 22 receptions.

Alexander enters his first season in Loretto after spending his first two season with Florida State. The Altoona, Pa. native began his career with the Seminoles as a corner back in 2009 seeing action in three games and picking off a pass against then-No. 7 BYU. In his sophomore campaign, Alexander was moved to wide receiver making three catches in three games.

DeMedal posted a solid freshman campaign with the Red Flash in 2010 seeing action in all 11 games while making nine starts. The New Willington, Pa. native posted 63 tackles in his first season while also recording two interceptions and four pass breakups.

Kelly, a Pittsburgh, Pa. native, started all 11 games for the Red Flash a season ago and anchored the offensive line at the right tackle position.
