CORNING, N.Y.- The Red Flash women's golf team knocked off the Niagara Purple Eagles by 23 strokes (321-344) in a dual match on Sunday in Corning, New York.
Taylar Jaramillo (Belen, N.M./Belen) led all golfers, shooting a match low 77. The senior was joined by
Patricia Klein (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) as the only golfers to break 80, Klein joined her fellow senior with a 79 on Sunday. The third member of the senior class,
Laura Rhoads (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey), shot a 93. Hayley Borkovich shot an 82 and
Desiree Razon (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) shot an 83 as the Red Flash had four of the five lowest scores on Sunday. Junior
Taylor Krout (Cogan Station, Pa./Montoursville) shot a 95 to round out the scoring for the Red Flash. Freshman
Kelsey Patterson (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) had the low round among the first-year players, shooting an 88 while
Samantha Weber (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy) and Taylor Krug each shot 97.
The victory will look to provide momentum for the Red Flash as they head to Youngstown, Ohio this weekend for the YSU Invite. The opening round is set for Sunday, October 4th.
