LORETTO, PA- The Saint Francis women's golf team will hit the links locally on Thursday as they host the Niagara Purple Eagles in a dual match at Ebensburg Country Club.
Â
The teams will each declare their five golfers for the match, with the top four scores counting towards the overall team score, low team score wins. Each golfer will also compete individually, regardless if they were chosen for the team score.
Â
This will be the second-straight season these teams have met for a dual match. In September 2015, the teams met halfway in Corning, New York for a dual match, with SFU winning the match by 23 strokes (321-344). This spring, the teams have both competed in the last two events, the Navy Invite and the Seahawk Invitational. The Red Flash finished 35 strokes better than Niagara at the Seahawk Invite and 42 strokes better at this last weekend's Navy Invite.
Â
The match will begin around 12:15 with a shotgun start at Ebensburg Country Club. The course plays at around 6200 yards with a par 71 that could move to a par 72 depending on that day's layout.
