Red Flash Wrap up Season at NCAA Championships

Richmond Heights, MO- The Saint Francis women's bowling team drops both matches on Thursday at Tropicana Lanes during the NCAA Bowling Championships. The Flash fell 2-0 to McKendree and 2-0 to North Carolina AT&T.

Sarah Littleton (Round Lake Beach, Ill./Grayslake North) led the way for the Red Flash as she knocked down 208 total pins in the first game. Haley Carroll (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) followed behind her as she bashed 206 total pins. During the baker match, SFU kept things close as things came down to the final game. The Bearcats would eventually pull away to win, 2-0.

The Red Flash opened the second game with five straight strikes but could not sustain its lead as the Aggies gained momentum in the later frames. Carroll led the Flash with 190 total pin falls as freshman Britney Grey (Cattaraugus, N.Y./Cattaraugus Little Valley Central ) followed her with 183. With an early lead to begin the baker match, the Aggies caught fire in the third frame and held its lead to win, 2-0.

"This season has been one of accomplishment and achievement that these ladies deserve," said head coach Tom Falbo. "Every player on this team has bonded which has made us stronger in all ways. A season like this will only fuel these players to higher heights in the future."

The Red Flash concludes its season with a 72-52 overall record as McKendree and North Carolina AT&T will advance to the second round of the NCAA Bowling Championships.
