Karson Swogger Named College Sports Madness NEC Player of the Week

LORETTO, Pa. – College Sports Madness released its weekly women's basketball awards on Monday. Senior guard Karson Swogger was named Player of the Week for the Northeast Conference for the third time this season, previously earning this honor on Dec. 21 and Dec. 28.

Swogger continued to lead Saint Francis' offense last week as the Red Flash swept Bryant on the road and improved to 6-0 in conference play. Swogger recorded a pair of 20-point games while also averaging three assists, 2.5 steals and 2.5 rebounds per game against the Bulldogs.

On Thursday, she scored a season-high 22 points as she shot 58.3 percent from the floor and was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Swogger followed with a game-high 20 points in the Friday win, totaling five assists and tying a career-high four steals. She shot 50 percent from three-point range, sinking three triples for the third time this season. Swogger also had seven made free throws in Friday's game, including a pair with 22 seconds remaining to seal the victory. This season, she's averaging 15.1 points, 4.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game to lead the Red Flash.
