SCOUTING THE BULLS
The Buffalo women opened the 2021 season with a decisive 6-1 victory against St. Bonaventure last weekend. The Bulls put together an impressive 10-2 record in 2020 before the cancellation of the season. UB enters the match with an experienced roster as eight of nine return from last season's roster.
This is the 2021 season opener for the Buffalo men after last weekend's cancellation. Last season, the Bulls compiled a 2-5 record in dual matches following their participation in five multi-team invitationals to begin the season. UB's wins came against St. Bonaventure and Niagara. The roster includes five returners, two freshmen and a transfer from Baylor.
SERIES WITH THE BULLS
The women most recently lost to Buffalo on March 10, 2017, dropping the match 7-0. This is the first time this decade that the SFU men and UB men have met in a dual match.

SCOUTING THE BONNIES
The St. Bonaventure men opened the 2021 season last weekend with a 5-2 loss against Duquesne. The Bonnies finished the 2020 season with a 1-11 record, earning the 5-2 victory against Loyola (Md.). Michael Bates and his staff brought in a strong recruiting class during the offseason as six of 11 players are currently freshmen.
The St. Bonaventure women began the season 0-2 after dropping matches to Buffalo (6-1) and Duquesne (5-2) last weekend. The Bonnies accrued a 5-8 record in 2020 – the most recent win coming on March 1 against Slippery Rock (5-2). Six of the eight players return from the 2020 roster.
SERIES WITH THE BONNIES
The Saint Francis men won the last match against St. Bonaventure by a 4-3 margin on April 13, 2018, though the teams were on track to meet again in 2020.
Sebastian Pinos won his singles match in 2018.
The Bonnies earned the narrow 4-3 victory in the most recent meeting with the Red Flash women on March 15, 2019, though the teams were scheduled to play last season.
Romina Cutipa dropped a tight singles match in 2019 as a freshman.
LAST TIME OUT
This is the 2021 season opener for the Saint Francis women. Last weekend, the Saint Francis men fell to Toledo 7-0 on the road in the season opener before dropping a tight contest at home against Morgan State, 4-3.
