Men and Women Fall to Dayton to Wrap Up Weekend

MIAMISBURG, Ohio – The Saint Francis men's and women's tennis teams wrapped up the road trip with a match at Dayton on Sunday. The Red Flash women (1-4) fell to Dayton (2-5) by a 5-2 margin while the Red Flash men (1-6) were shutout 7-0 against the Dayton men (3-4).

SINGLES
Dominique Yeo and Anouk Ma-Ajong both won their singles matches. Yeo defeated Dayton's Kompa at No. 1 singles, 7-6, 2-6, 10-7. At No. 4 singles, Ma-Ajong won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.

Nagisa Miyake lost to UD's Wojcikiewicz at No. 2 singles by 6-3 and 6-1 margins. At No. 3 singles, Romina Cutipa fell to the Flyers' Hamilton 6-1 and 6-4. Marie Discini pushed her first set at No. 5 singles to extra but ultimately was defeated 6-7, 1-6.

DOUBLES
Yeo and Cutipa won their match at No. 2 doubles against Wojcikiewicz and Stanton by a 6-2 mark. Dayton took No. 1 doubles against Ma-Ajong and Miyake 6-3 and took the doubles point.

SINGLES
All singles matches were decided in two sets. Daniel Vinces took his first set at No. 3 singles against Eliasson to extra but fell 6-7, 1-6. At No. 5 singles, Christian Banti lost 4-6 in set one against Dunne before narrowly losing set two, 6-7.

Sebastian Pinos fell at No. 1 singles to Dayton's Bruce by a 6-2 mark in each set. At No. 2 singles, Andrew Teixeira lost to UD's Karl, 2-6 and 3-6. Jordi Garcia lost 6-0 and 6-1 to Mavrodiev at No. 4 singles. Samuel Ghigiarelli fell to DeCurtins by a 6-0 margin in both sets.

DOUBLES
The Flyers won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Pinos and Banti teamed up at No. 1 doubles, losing 6-1 to Bruce and DeCurtins. At No. 2 doubles, Teixeira and Vinces fell to Mavrodiev and Karl by a 6-2 mark. Ghigiarelli and Garcis lost at No. 3 doubles to Eliasson and Dunne, 6-3.
