LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's and women's tennis teams are scheduled to travel to Carnegie Mellon on Friday before hosting Mount St. Mary's in a rematch of last weekend. The Red Flash travels to Carnegie Mellon on Friday. On Saturday, the SFU women will play at the Ebensburg Tennis Center at noon while the SFU men play at the Gorilla House Gym in Altoona at noon.
The Matchup: Saint Francis women (3-9) at Carnegie Mellon women (4-0) and Saint Francis men (1-11) at Carnegie Mellon men (2-0)

SCOUTING THE TARTANS
The Carnegie Mellon men (2-0) and women (4-0) are both undefeated so far this season. The Tartans women shut out West Liberty 7-0 and beat Slippery Rock by a 4-3 mark during opening weekend before shutting out Grove City and Franciscan both by a 9-0 margin last weekend. The Carnegie Mellon men opened the season last weekend with an 8-1 win against Grove City and a 9-0 win against Franciscan.
SERIES WITH THE TARTANS
The Red Flash men most recently played the Tartans last season, dropping a 5-2 decision at home in the final match of the season.
Andrew Teixeira won his No. 2 singles match by prevailing in three sets while
Samuel Ghigiarelli won his No. 6 singles match in straight sets.
The SFU women most recently played Carnegie Mellon in 2019, falling to the Tartans by a 5-4 margin. The Red Flash earned points at No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 singles and also won the No. 2 doubles match. All singles matches took three sets to decide.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
The Mount St. Mary's women enter the weekend with an even 2-2 record. The Mountaineers won the season opener against La Salle, 7-0, before losing to Saint Joseph's 5-2 to wrap up opening weekend. Last weekend, MSM dropped its Northeast Conference opener against LIU by a 7-0 mark before earning the narrow 4-3 victory against Saint Francis.
The Mount St. Mary's men enter the match with a 1-2 record. The Mountaineers lost both matches on opening weekend, being edged out by La Salle 4-3 in the season opener before dropping a 6-1 decision against Saint Joseph's to wrap up opening weekend. Last weekend, MSM earned the 4-3 win against SFU to open conference play.
SERIES WITH THE MOUNTAINEERS
The Mountaineers and Red Flash most recently met last Sunday when MSM claimed the narrow 4-3 win on both the men's and women's sides. The Mount St. Mary's men earned all four points at singles, claiming victories at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 singles. The MSM women took the doubles point before winning at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
LAST TIME OUT
Saint Francis was edged out by Mount St. Mary's on the men's and women's side by a 4-3 margin last Sunday. The SFU men earned the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles before winning the No. 4 and No. 5 singles matches. The Red Flash women picked up points at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles and also won the No. 1 doubles match.
Daniel Vinces earned NEC Prime Performer honors after winning his No. 4 singles match and being on the winning No. 2 doubles team against the Mountaineers. Vinces also won his No. 4 singles match against Duquesne earlier in the weekend.
