Red Flash golf marathon postponed to Wednesday, June 23

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis head women's golf coach Lisa Warrilow and head men's golf coach Derek Tyson will participate in a golf marathon on Wednesday, June 23 at Immergrun Golf Course to raise funds and awareness for mental health charities.

The event has been rescheduled to its new date due to the threat of thunderstorms in Loretto on Monday.

Warrilow and Tyson will tee off early in the morning in an attempt to play as many holes as possible with each hole played raising money for their cause. The goal for Warrilow and Tyson is to play 300 holes.

The marathon will honor former women's golf student-athlete Alivia Juliana, who passed away in 2019.

Juliana previously conducted a similar fundraiser to raise funds for local charities around her hometown of Malvern, Pennsylvania, completing 201 holes in a single day.

"Liv was a very community and charity-minded individual," said Warrilow. "She put others before herself and was always working on ways to raise funds and awareness for the causes that meant so much to her. As a way to continue her legacy, Derek and I will look to follow in her footsteps with a golf marathon to raise awareness for mental health and remove the stigma that Liv fought against so bravely."

All proceeds will be equally distributed between the Saint Francis University Active Minds Chapter and the Liv Juliana Liv2BeKind Fund.

Donations are being accepted to support the effort. To donate, mail a check to the Immergrun Golf Course or visit the pro shop today. Cash and check donations will also be accepted at the golf course on the day of the event. For questions, contact Lisa Warrilow at 814-471-9650 or via email at lwarrilow@francis.edu.
