Meyers Has Best Final Round For Saint Francis Men's Golf At Meadows Intercollegiate

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Trent Meyers (Altoona, Pa.) posted a team-best final round four-over par score to pace the Saint Francis men's golf team at the Meadows Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
>> Meyers registered birdies on holes nine and 17 and had 11 pars to finish the final round with a score of 75.
>> Meyers and Nathan Godbout (St. George, Vt.) led the Red Flash with 64th-place finishes.
>> Saint Francis finished the event in 11th place.

FLASH MOMENTS
Meyers finished the 54 holes with six birdies, 26 pars, and a three-round score of 232. Godbout, who had a team-best round of 74 in the second round, had a 79 in the final round thanks to a birdie on hole nine and nine pars. The senior had seven pars and a birdie on the front nine of the course. Godbout finished with five birdies and 28 pars in the three rounds. 

Lukas Cascino (Johnstown, Pa.) (72nd place, 243), Jackson Hoey (Sewickley, Pa.) (73rd place, 244), and Kyle McClintock (Venetia, Pa.) (75th place, 271) rounded out the Saint Francis five team players. 

Cascino had a birdie on hole three and five pars in the final round to finish the 54 holes with a birdie and 25 pars. Hoey carded eight pars on Tuesday to finish the tournament with a birdie and 25 pars, while McClintock registered a birdie and 13 pars in the three rounds.

Ben Diskin (Charlotte, N.C.) (74th place, 259) is competing in the event as an individual. Diskin posted a birdie on hole six and two pars and had two birdies and 15 pars in the 54 holes.

Minnesota led wire-to-wire the three-round, two-day event with a score of (833), nine strokes ahead of Miami (Ohio) (842). Indian Hills Community College (846), St. Thomas (854), and North Dakota State (856) rounded out the Top-5 teams. Saint Francis shot 320, 312, and 318 in the three rounds to finish in 11th place with a score of 950.

NEXT TIME ON THE GREEN
The Red Flash will compete in the Pitt-Johnstown Bedford Springs Invitational on April 22-23 in Bedford, Pa. This event is the final tune-up for the Northeast Conference Men's Golf Championships.
