Hoey Registers Best Final Round; Godbout Top Finisher For Saint Francis Men's Golf At The Jewell

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Jackson Hoey (Sewickley, Pa.) posted the best round of the afternoon for Saint Francis with a four-over par round of 75 in the final round of the Jewell hosted by Northern Kentucky on Sunday.
>> Nathan Godbout (St. George, Vt.) was the Red Flash's top finisher with a 47th-place finish. The senior had a great first day on Saturday with a one-over par 36 holes.
>> Saint Francis finished in 11th place.

FLASH MOMENTS
Godbout registered an even-par first round of 71, a one-over-par second round of 72, and then shot 83 in the final round to finish in 47th place with a three-round score of 226. The senior had a birdie on the first hole and six pars in the final round to finish the three rounds with seven birdies and 30 pars in the 54 holes in the two days.

Trent Meyers (Altoona, Pa.) (68th place, 240), Hoey (70th place, 243), Kyle McClintock (Venetia, Pa.) (72nd place, 246), and Hunter Jurica (Derry, Pa.) (74th place, 248) also competed in the event as Red Flash team players.

Hoey carded birdies on holes three, four, nine, and 10 with seven pars in the final round. He finished the tournament with six birdies and 19 pars.

Meyers recorded a birdie on the sixth, 12th, and 17th holes with five pars and ended the tournament with five birdies and 23 pars in the three rounds. McClintock had the second-best round of the day with a score of 79 thanks to birdies on holes six and nine with six pars to finish the Jewell with five birdies and 19 pars. Jurica recorded a birdie on the 10th hole, added five pars in the final round, and finished the 54 holes with three birdies and 19 pars. 

Alex Carr (Somerset, Pa.) (77th place, 263) competed in the event as an individual. The freshman carded a birdie on the 15 hole and seven pars and then had eight pars in the final 18 holes of the day.

Wright State won the 54-hole event with a six-under team score of 846, 22 strokes ahead of Oakland (868). Detroit Mercy (872), Bellarmine (873), Southern Indiana (874), and Cleveland State (874) rounded out the Top-5 teams. Saint Francis finished in 11th place with scores of 319, 311, and 317, finishing the event with a score of 947.
