Saint Francis opened play at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championships with an 18-10 loss to Princeton on April 10 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
TURNING POINTS
Saint Francis trailed 5-2 at the end of the first quarter. The Red Flash continued to battle in the second, entering halftime down 10-5. Princeton added to its lead in the third, with Saint Francis trailing 15-9 heading into the final frame. The Red Flash added late goals in the fourth, bringing the final score to 18-10.
POOL HIGHLIGHTS
Caylah Olay led the Red Flash offense with a standout performance, scoring seven goals on 12 attempts while adding an assist and drawing five ejections.
Sofia Maioriello contributed one goal and two assists, helping facilitate the offense throughout the contest.
Aubrey Miller added a goal and an assist on a perfect shooting performance, while
Lucy Willis chipped in a goal and drew an ejection.
Megan Marlin recorded an assist and a block, and
Lexanny Gonzalez added an assist, two blocks, and two steals on the defensive end.
In goal,
Victoria Tamarit posted six saves while contributing across the stat sheet with two assists and five steals.
