LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University has announced Madison Nugent as the new Head Coach of the Red Wolves cheerleading and dance teams.

Nugent currently works as an administrative assistant and special events coordinator in the Shields School of Business. She brings nine years of coaching experience at both the high school and all-star levels, where she developed a passion for coaching, mentoring and helping student-athletes reach their potential.

"Hiring Madi Nugent as the new Cheer and Dance Coach from within the Saint Francis University community provides accessibility and a better connection to our students," said Director of Athletics Jim Brazill. "As an existing employee, she already understands our culture and values, allowing her to immediately contribute to student development, team success and campus engagement."

Nugent's coaching philosophy is rooted in the University's Franciscan values, with an emphasis on character, service, respect and the development of the whole student-athlete. She believes in fostering leadership, personal accountability, teamwork and continuous growth while creating an environment where student-athletes can build confidence and lifelong relationships.

"I am honored and excited for the opportunity to lead the Saint Francis University Cheer and Dance programs," Nugent said. "This University has given me the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, and I look forward to giving back by creating an experience that develops successful student-athletes, confident leaders and proud ambassadors for Saint Francis."

"I want our student-athletes to know that what they do matters," Nugent added. "Whether they are performing on the sidelines, representing Saint Francis at an event or engaging with the campus community, they have an opportunity to make an impact. My goal is to challenge them to reach their full potential both on and off the sidelines."

Nugent earned her bachelor's degree in Sport Management with a minor in Athletic Coaching from Clarion University. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Strategic Leadership at Saint Francis University.
