Chene Townsend

Chene Townsend enters her second season as an assistant coach for the Saint Francis track and field programs. 
 
During her first season at Saint Francis, Townsend helped the Red Flash break four school records, record 32 Top 10 performances and land four athletes on the NEC All-Conference team. Under her guidance, sophomore Dashaun Jackson became the NEC champion in the 110-meter hurdle, qualifying for the NCAA preliminaries in the same event. Townsend also helped guide the 4 x 400 meter indoor relay team to an NEC championship.
 
Prior to her time in Loretto, Townsend spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at West Virginia, working primarily with the hurdlers and jumpers.

A standout track athlete at West Virginia, Townsend earned Academic All-Big 12 Second Team honors and Big East Academic All-Star honors. She was also named to the Big 12 Commissioners' and Garrett Ford Honor Roll. She is certified in USOC Safe Sport and Level One USA Track and Field.
