Abby Wagner joined the Red Flash coaching staff in January 2021 as an assistant track & field coach. Wagner oversees all of the jumps and pole vaults.
Wagner joined the Red Flash from Emporia State, where she served as an assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field and cross country teams. Wagner worked primarily with the Hornets' jumps athletes and served as the program's recruiting coordinator.
Wagner's role at Emporia State also included the coordination of strength and conditioning training – a role in which she gained experience in her senior year at Shippensburg and in a postgraduate position at Wilson College. She holds a certification as a strength and conditioning specialist from the NSCA.
A 2019 graduate of Shippensburg, Wagner was a three-time Division II All-American in the triple jump and two-time PSAC champion in the event. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Shippensburg and is nearing completion of a Master of Science in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Emporia State.
Wagner is an Altoona native and graduated from Altoona Area High School.
