Pat Farabaugh enters his 15th year as the voice of Saint Francis football and his ninth season as play-by-play announcer for Red Flash men’s basketball in the 2025-26 season.
Farabaugh teams with Saint Francis Hall-of-Famer Jay Roberts on football broadcasts and central Pennsylvania hoops coaching legend Bernie Jubeck on basketball games.
Farabaugh is a professor of Communications at Saint Francis and served as sports information director at the University from 1999-2005. He also worked in athletic media relations at Pitt, Slippery Rock and Bucknell.
Before joining the faculty at Saint Francis, Farabaugh taught in the Journalism and Public Relations Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He has also taught communications courses at Penn State.
Farabaugh has authored three books: “Disastrous Floods and the Demise of Steel in Johnstown” (2021); "An Unbreakable Bond: The Brotherhood of Maurice Stokes and Jack Twyman" (2014); and "Carl McIntire's Crusade Against the Fairness Doctrine" (2010). "An Unbreakable Bond" explores Maurice Stokes’ life and details the special relationship between he and Jack Twyman. Stokes earned All-American honors in basketball at Saint Francis before graduating from the school in 1955.
Farabaugh is currently working on his fourth book, one tentatively titled "Fumbled Opportunity: How Politics and Race Derailed Penn State's 1969 Football Season." He is a frequent contributor to publications covering the Altoona/Johnstown/Indiana region and has been published in multiple academic journals.
A graduate of IUP (bachelor's degree), Slippery Rock (master's degree) and Penn State (doctoral degree), Farabaugh has served as a volunteer with multiple community organizations and is an active member of various University committees. He served as co-chair of Saint Francis' Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Self-Study Team from 2022-25 and co-wrote and edited the University’s 2024 MSCHE Self-Study Report.
Farabaugh serves as a Faculty Athletics Mentor (FAM) with the Red Flash football team and previously served as a FAM with the SFU women’s basketball program.
He and his wife, Jenna, reside in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
