SFU to Play Monmouth in Front of National Audience

LORETTO, Pa. (August 7, 2012) – The Northeast Conference announced Tuesday that the Saint Francis University Football team will play Monmouth Nov. 10 live on Fox College Sports and ESPN 3.

The Red Flash will be looking to stop a six game slide to the Hawks. In 2011, Saint Francis and Monmouth put on an epic offensive display racking up a combined 93 points as the Hawks edged the Flash 48-45. Kyle Harbridge (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns against the Hawks in the 2011 meeting but it was not enough to overcome Craig Peterson's 316 passing yards for Monmouth. It was the most points scored in 19 all-time meetings between the two schools. The last time the two teams met in West Long Branch, N.J., the Hawks picked up a 19-7 win with 16 points coming in the second quarter.

Saint Francis opens the regular season Sept. 1 on the road against James Madison with kickoff set for 6 p.m. The Red Flash kickoff the conference and home schedule Sept. 8 against Bryant and that game can be seen live on NEC Front Row.
