LORETTO, Pa. (Oct. 21, 2007) – The Saint Francis University women's soccer team picked up its first Northeast Conference win of the season on Sunday afternoon, as they downed regional-rival Robert Morris, 1-0, at the Stokes Soccer Complex.
Sophomore
Brittni Grenninger (Chicora, Pa/Karns City ) (Chicora, Pa./Karns City) provided all the offense the Red Flash would need, scoring the game's only in the 71st minute of play, off of a crisp feed from junior
Jennilee Morrison (Jeannette, Pa./Jeannette) (Jeannette, Pa./Jeannette).
Grenninger and fellow junior
Alanna Vespa (Ancaster, Ontario/Saint Mary’s Catholic) (Ancaster, Ontario/Saint Mary's Catholic) led the SFU offense with two shots on goal apiece. The Flash had seven shots on goal overall.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Jessica Boyer (Pittsburgh, Pa/Mount Lebanon) (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) made five saves while posting her sixth shutout of the season.
The Red Flash return to action on Friday when they host Mount St. Mary's at 2:30.
