Bucknell Snaps Saint Francis' Three-Game Winning Streak

LEWISBURG, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2007) – The Saint Francis University women's soccer team had its three-game win-streak broken Wednesday at Bucknell, 5-2. The loss drops the Red Flash to 3-2 as they prepare to host St. Bonaventure on Sunday.

The Bison scored the match's first five goals before the Flash got on the scoreboard, thanks to junior Alanna Vespa (Ancaster, Ontario/Saint Mary’s Catholic)'s team-leading fifth goal of the season. Vespa (Ancaster, Ontario/Saint Mary's Catholic) attempted three other shots in the match, two of which were on goal.

Freshman Haleigh Dunyon (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) fired SFU's second goal of the day at the in the 57th minute via a blistering shot from long range that sailed over the Bucknell keeper's head. The goal was the second on the year for Dunyon who now has five points in her rookie campaign.

Sunday's match at the Stokes Soccer Complex will kickoff at 4 p.m.
