Red Flash Look to End Skid Against SFC on Thursday

LORETTO, Pa. (Jan. 27, 2009) - The Red Flash hope to end a two-game skid when they host the St. Francis Terriers on Thursday night at DeGol Arena.  SFU defeated SFC 64-43 on January 7, but had a rough weekend on the road last week falling to both Monmouth and Fairleigh Dickinson.

 SERIES HISTORY

Since the two teams met in 1985-86, the Red Flash have compiled a 34-13 win over the Terriers that includes a 64-63 win on January 7. Saint Francis is 18-4 versus SFNY in DeGol Arena and has taken the last three consecutive contests. The Flash have put up 100 or more points twice against the Terriers, first in 199-92 (W, 109-88) and in 2003-04 (W,  04-59)

 Think Pink!
The Red Flash are gearing up for their third annual WBCA PinkZone Day to raise money in the fight against breast cancer. On February 20 versus Sacred Heart, the Flash will don pink uniforms and will later auction off the game-worn duds with the proceeds going to Making Strides Against Cancer. WTAJ news anchor Amy Mearkel will be SFU's honorary coach for the televised contest, which will also serve as the Red Flash's Senior and Alumni Day Celebrations.

 Goin' Streakin'
On Saturday against FDU, Samantha Leach (Mount Sterling, Ohio/Miami Trace) made her 71st consecutive start, marking the longest active startng streak by a current Saint Francis player. Leach has started all but two of the 73 games in which she has appeared (she missed the end of the 2007-08 season with an injury). Britney Hodges (Dayton, Ohio/Mount de Chantal) had 76 starts, the most career starts by an active Red Flash player. However, not all of them were done consecutively.
