Red Flash Head To Easton For Key Road Game Against Lafayette

LORETTO, Pa. (Nov. 16, 2010) – The Saint Francis men's basketball team will take momentum on the road for a 7 p.m. Wednesday tipoff at Lafayette College, where the Red Flash will shoot to improve to 2-1 on the young season.

SFU is coming off a confidence-building, 69-66, come-from-behind victory over Colgate on Monday night at DeGol Arena. Sophomores Will Felder (Cleveland, OH/Lutheran East Hs) (Cleveland, Ohio / Lutheran East) and Umar Shannon (Atlantic City, N.J./Atlantic City) (Atlantic City, N.J. / Atlantic City) contributed key plays in an 11-1 run to end the game.

Wednesday's game against the Leopards can be heard on The EDGE 1400 AM, and a link to listen will be available at www.myedgeradio.com.

“That was a grow-up win for our young team on Monday night,” said Saint Francis head coach Don Friday. “We played good defense down the stretch, and we made some key plays. Umar was fantastic and really showed that he can be a big time player, and Will Felder (Cleveland, OH/Lutheran East Hs) bounced back from a tough game at American. Now we need to take the next step and learn how to win on the road. Lafayette is well coached, and provides another tough challenge.”

In the only other meeting between the schools, Lafayette won an 88-77 contest last season at DeGol Arena. The game marks the third straight against Patriot League competition to start the season for the Red Flash. Saint Francis returns home for a key battle against in-state rival Bucknell on Saturday.
