Red Flash Embark on Final Road Trip of the Season

LORETTO, Pa. - The Red Flash will look to finish the season on a high note and continue their three-game win streak as they emark on their final road trip of the season, starting with Mount St. Mary's on Thursday night.  Tip off is set for 5 p.m. at Knott Arena in Emmitsburg.

Series History
This is the second and final meeting of the season between the Red Flash and the Mountaineers, with the Mount looking to tie it after Saint Francis took the first game 68-51 back in December.  Britney Hodges (Dayton, Ohio/Mount de Chantal) led the scoring in that game, with Quinessa Johnson (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) and Sam Leach finishing in double fivures as well.  Thursday is the 50th all-time match up between the two teams, with the Mount leading the series 26-23.  After defeating the Mountaineers last season at Knott Arena, the Flash are 8-17 all-time in Emmitbsburg.

Red Flash Clinch Spot in NEC?Tournament
SFU's big win over Sacred Heart, combined with Quinnipiac's loss to Robert Morris, clinched a spot in the 2010 Northeast Conference Tournament for the Red Flash.  Currently in fifth place, the Red?Flash will not know their first-round opponent until all games are completed on Saturday.  The Flash are in are tied with Bryant, but because the Bulldogs cannot participate in the post season SFU?has sole posession of fifth place.

Red Flash Get Revenge
The 75-69 win over Sacred Heart did more than just clinch a berth in the NEC?Tournament for the Red Flash.  It was revenge for SFU, who lost to the Pioneers in the NEC?Championship game by a score of 74-66.  Prior to Saturday, SFU?had not beaten the Pioneers since January 20 of 2007, and had suffered four straight losses SHU.

In Case of a Tie...
As the regular season comes to a close, SFU?currently ranks fifth in the conference and can finish no lower.  The Red Flash could tie Sacred Heart's 11 wins, and would take the tiebreaker after defeating the Pioneers on Saturday.  CCSU?could win out and tie the Flash, but SFU?would again take the tiebreaker.  Saint Francis does not own the tiebreaker against Monmouth, and will need to win both of their finals games to have a chance against MSM?and Wagner.
