Red Flash to Host Robert Morris as NEC Part of Rivals Week

LORETTO, Pa. (Feb. 3, 2010) - The Saint Francis women's basketball team will take on Robert Morris on Thursday afternoon as part of the NEC's First Annual Rivals Week.  Tip off is set for 5 p.m. in DeGol Arena.

 Series History
Two in-state rivals could not have a more exciting history than the Red Flash and the Colonials.  Currently, RMU?has a 32-31 lead in the series, though SFU?has won two of the last three games.  After falling to Robert Morris on Jan. 3 last season, the Red Flash battled back to win take a win from RMU in the last game of the season.  SFU?then went on to knock the Colonials from the NEC?Tournament less than a week later.  The Flash have history on their side on Thursday, holding 17-12 record at home against the Colonials. 

Daly Earns NEC?Nod
Allison Daly (Harrisburg, Pa./Trinity) became the second Red Flash player to earn the NEC/Choice Hotel's Player-of-the-Week award this season, earning the honor on Feb. 1.  The Junior guard had a double-double (13 pts, 10 reb)?against SFNY, then scored 25 points and led the reboudning effort with seven to help the Flash get past LIU?on Thursday.  Daly shared the award with Sacred Heart's Alisa Apo.  Teammate Britney Hodges (Dayton, Ohio/Mount de Chantal) has garnered recognition twice this season.

The Red Flash sunk a season-high 12 three-point shots in the 91-80 win over the Blackbirds of Long Island on Saturday evening.  Britney Hodges (Dayton, Ohio/Mount de Chantal), who is shotting 45.3 percent from beyond the free-throw line this season made six shots from beyond the arc on her way to leading the scoring with 26 points.  Allison Daly (Harrisburg, Pa./Trinity) also notched six three-pointers, putting up 25 points.  She is currently 45-of-118 for 38.1 percent from beyond the arc.

1,000 Point Watch
Junior guard Samantha Leach (Mount Sterling, Ohio/Miami Trace) has put her self closer and closer to her 1,000th career point each game this season.  Scoring eight points on Saturday vs. Long Island,  the junior guard now has 848 career points (152 shy), and could reach the milestone during the 2009-10 season.
