Saint Francis Falls on the road at Bucknell, 73-42

Eatherton leads the way with nine

LEWISBURG, Pa.
– The Saint Francis University men's basketball team fell to Bucknell Saturday, 73-42, on the road in Sojka Pavilion.  
 
The Red Flash started slow against the Bison and could not recover. Joe Willman, Bryan Cohen and Mike Muscala power the offensive attack for Bucknell combining for 42 points. Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) led the way for the Red Flash with nine but fouled out for the second time in three games. Five Red Flash freshman saw action and combined for 16 points but it was not enough.
 
The Flash struggled to find ways to score in the first half and struggled through two long scoring droughts. The Bison used their size on the inside and dominated the glass pulling down 25 rebounds while the Flash grabbed just 10 and ran out to a 37-16 halftime lead. Muscala led the way inside with five points and eight first half boards, while Willman poured in 13 while grabbing four rebounds in the first frame. The Red Flash went just 6-of-22 from (27.3-percent) the field in the first half and missed all six of their 3-point attempts.   
 
Red Flash came out strong in the second half second half and played the Bison even over the first 12 minutes of the half but could not cut into the Bucknell advantage. Bucknell extended its lead late in the half and put the game out of reach of a Red Flash comeback.  
 
Saint Francis returns to action Wednesday as they head to Colgate for a 5 p.m. tip against the Raiders.
 
GAME NOTES
-Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) stretched his streak of consecutive makes without a miss to 11 before it in ended in the first half.
 
- Eatherton fouled out for the second time in three games this season.
 
- Saint Francis limited the Bison to just 14.3-percent (1-7) shooting from behind the 3-point arc and just 23.1-percent (3-13) for the game.
 
-The Flash picked up just 10 rebounds in the first half, the same number of offensive boards recorded by the Bison.
 
- Saint Francis connected on all four of its free throw attempts in the first half going 4-for-4.
 
- For the second consecutive game Dominique Major (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) missed his first shot of the night (a 3-pointer)
 
- Bucknell started the game on a 16-2 run that ended at the 11:13 mark on a jumper by Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter). The Bison stretched their lead again with a 10-0 run from the 9:43 mark to the 5:51 of the half.
 
- Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) saw the first action of his college career Saturday night and scored on his first who a jumper in the lane.
 
- Dexter Lindsey (Fort Washington, Md./St. Stephan's) also saw his first action of his college career. Lindsey missed his first attempted connected on a 3-point attempt on his second shot.
