ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. (Nov. 4, 2011) – The Saint Francis University bowling team currently sits in 15
th place in the 18-team field after day one of the FDU New Jersey Jamboree.
The Red Flash compiled a total team baker pinfall of 3,291 and are ahead of Bethune-Cookman, Howard and Salem International on the leaderboard. Vanderbilt leads after the first day of play with a total baker pinfall of 3,978. Sam Houston State, Fairleigh Dickinson, Maryland Eastern Shore and Sacred Heart round out the remaining top-five schools.
Despite being in 15
th place, the Flash did post a 3-2 record on the day, beating the three teams below them on the leaderboard and falling to the current top two squads. Saint Francis registered baker scores of 660, 645, 627, 696 and 663.
Saint Francis will hit the lanes again tomorrow for the second day of action in the three-round event.
