Saint Francis hosts Monmouth on Monday

FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)

Saint Francis welcomes Monmouth to DeGol Arena on Monday evening for the third game of a season-long four-game homestand.  The Red Flash enters the game on the heels of three consecutive wins, while the Hawks have dropped their last two games.

SFU opened its Northeast Conference slate on Saturday after using an impressive defensive effort to turn back Fairleigh Dickinson, 69-56, at DeGol Arena.  Monmouth, which has played its last six games away from home, fell at Robert Morris by a slim 57-54 margin over the weekend.

While they have registered a pair of neutral site victories, the Hawks are 0-4 in 'true' road games.  The Flash, on the other hand are 2-1 in Loretto and 20-4 at home against NEC competition over the past two seasons.

The Hawks took both regular season meetings between the teams last year and provided the only blemish on SFU's 14-1 record at home.  The Flash, however, won the teams' third meeting of the year to claim its 11th NEC title.

Monmouth leads the all-time series 27-to-26 and is the NEC opponent against which Saint Francis does not hold a .500-or-better record.

SFU returns to action on Saturday when it welcomes Towson for a 4 p.m. contest.
