Saint Francis Returns Home to Battle Sacred Heart

The Red Flash look for their fourth consecutive home win.

LORETTO, Pa. (Jan. 11, 2012) - Saint Francis returns home from a season long five game road trip with a conference contest Thursday against Sacred Heart at DeGol Arena at 7 p.m.

FLASH FACTS
- The Red Flash enter Thursday's match up on a five game losing skid but SFU has won its last three consecutive home contests.

- Saint Francis won its last game on Dec. 10 against then-Patriot League leading American rallying from 16 points down.

- All three of SFU wins this season have come at home and the Red Flash own an overall mark of 3-3 at DeGol Arena.

- Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) has only missed five shots from the field in six home games this season. The sophomore is shooting 88.6-percent from the field in DeGol Arena.

- Eatherton enters Thursday looking for his third consecutive double-double. The sophomore forward has registered double-doubles in his last two conference contests. Eatherton and NEC Preseason Player of the Year Ken Horton  (CCSU) are the only players averaging nine or rebounds and more than 18 points a game in NEC action.

- Ollie Jackson (Dallas, Texas/Pinkston ) enters Thursday shooting 54.5-percent from behind the 3-point arc at home this season. The Red Flash freshman has connected on at least one or more 3-pointer in all but one home game this season.

- SFU has won three of its last four conference home games and have not lost to league foe at DeGol since Feb. 26, 2011 (Mount St. Mary's)

- SFU holds an all-time record of 9-9 against Sacred Heart. The Red Flash have won their last two meetings with the Pioneers, winning last season's contest 88-86 in overtime in Fairfield, Conn. SFU has not lost to Sacred Heart in DeGol Arena since Feb. 14, 2009.

- Kameron Ritter enters Thursday's contest coming off one of this best overall games with the Red Flash. The junior posted 10 points, six rebounds, four steals, four assists, two blocks and zero turnovers against Bryant.
 
- In his past six games, Ritter holds a 18-9 assist-to-turnover ratio and has posted three games with zero turnovers. The junior guard posted a career-high five assists against American Dec. 10.

- In home and road games the Red Flash are holding opponents to almost the same shooting percentage (.457-home; .450-away). The biggest difference for the Flash has been it's shooting at home compared to the road. At home, SFU shoots the lights out with a 55.1-percent shooting percentage at DeGol arena. On the road, the Flash struggle and boast just a 39.4-percent road shooting percentage.

- The Red Flash have used eight different starting line ups this season including four different starting lineups in their last four games. Eatherton is the only player to start all 15 games for the Flash Stephon Whyatt (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) ranks as the only other SFU player with 10 or more starters. On the active roster 10 of the 13 players on the active roster have started at least one game this season.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME
The Red Flash have won their last three home contests and its only three losses at home all came by three points or fewer. Saint Francis averages more than nine points more a game at home this season and is shooting 55.1-percent from the field in DeGol Arena this season. Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey), Jon Talyor, Stephon Whyatt (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) and Anthony Ervin (Chesterfield, Va./Fork Union Military Academy) all average more than eight points a game at home. Eatherton has enjoyed the home floor the most with 88.6-shooting percentage at DeGol Arena. The sophomore forward has missed just five shot in his first six home games. Ollie Jackson (Dallas, Texas/Pinkston ) also enjoys the friendly confides of DeGol Arena as the SFU freshman shoots 54.5-percent from 3-point land at home.

REBOUNDS KEY RED FLASH
Saint Francis owns a record of 3-1 this season when it wins the rebounding battle. SFU's only loss, when out rebounding its opponent, came against CCSU. The Red Flash also outrebounded American, Fairleigh Dickinson and Monmouth, which all resulted in SFU wins. The Flash rank 328 nationally in rebounding margin with a -7 mark but against conference foes SFU ranks fourth with a +4 margin.  

SFU VS. SACARED HEART
SFU holds an all time record of 9-9 against the Pioneers with wins in the last two meetings between the two teams. The Red Flash controlled the series between the two teams early winning five of the first six games, but Sacred Heart had won seven in a row until the Flash posted wins in the last two meetings. Don Friday lost the first two times his Red Flash met the Pioneers but the SFU head coach has won two straight, the most by any SFU coach his 2004-05.
