LORETTO, Pa. (Jan. 20, 2012) – The Saint Francis men's basketball team concludes its weekend road trip to New Jersey Saturday with a 2 p.m. tipoff against the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson.
FLASH FACTS
- The Red Flash look to get back to .500 league play after falling to Monmouth Thursday night in West Long Branch.
- Saturday marks the second meeting between FDU and SFU this season with the Red Flash winning the first in Loretto, Dec. 3, 73-69.
- Saint Francis enters Saturday's match up looking for its first road win of the season. SFU holds a 0-10 mark in road contests this season and an 11-game road losing skid dating back to last season.
- The Red Flash have earned wins in four of their last five meetings with Fairleigh Dickinson and have not lost to the Knights since Jan. 23, 2010. All-time SFU holds a record of 37-40 against FDU.

Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) posted the third double-double of his career Thursday at Monmouth and racked up a career-high 14 rebounds.
- Eatherton has scored in double-figures in his last seven games and 13 of the last 14 while posting double-digit rebounds in three of his last five games.
- Eatherton added a career-high five blocks and tied a season-high with three steal in the contest with the Hawks Thursday.
- Kameron Ritter posted a season-high five turnovers against Monmouth Thursday as the Red Flash posted a season-high 23 turnovers as a team.
- The Red Flash bench posted its lowest point total of the season Thursday notching just four points on the night. SFU has not won a game this season in which its bench has been outscored.
- Don Friday enters Saturday looking for this sixth win in four seasons against Fairleigh Dickinson. The SFU head coach holds an all-time mark of 5-2 against the Knights.
- In its wins, the Saint Francis bench averages 23.25 points per game but in losses the bench averages just 14.42 points pergame.

Jon Taylor (Bowie, Md./Montgomery College-Germantown) continued his streak of collecting three or more rebounds in a game, posting seven against Monmouth and falling just one short of a season high.
- SFU shot just under 36-percent Thursday for the third time this season. The previous two times the Flash shot under 36-percent they responded with strong shooting performances and hold a 1-1 record in game after shooting under 36-percent this season.

Ollie Jackson (Dallas, Texas/Pinkston ) posted the fourth double-digit scoring performance of his young career Thursday night against Monmouth. The Dallas, Texas native connected on three 3-point shots and notched his first double-digit showing since Dec. 10.
ROAD WOES
The Red Flash have struggled on the road this season and enter Saturday's showdown with 0-10 mark on the road this season and an 11-game road losing streak dating back to last season. SFU's offense has struggled to find a rhythm away from DeGol Arena. On their home floor, the Red Flash average just over 69 points a game but on the road that averages drops to just a little over 52 points a game. SFU has scored 60 points or more in just one road game this season while they have surpassed 60 in all but one of their home contests.
Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) sees his points per game average drop by five points in road contest and his shooting percentage goes down 28-percent. The Red Flash also struggle on the board on the road, SFU rebound differential at home is -0.5 but on the road that jumps to -10.5.
SFU VS. FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON
The Red Flash holds an all-time record of 37-40 against the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson. Saint Francis has not lost to FDU since Jan. 23, 2010. SFU won its last road game in the Rothman Center on Jan. 21, 2011 exactly one year ago from their meeting this season.
Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) leads all active SFU players in scoring and rebounding against the Knights as the sophomore averages 14.5 points and 5.5 rebounds a game against FDU. Head Coach Don Friday holds a 5-2 mark all-time against the Knights but he is just 1-2 in the Rothman Center.
EVENT TO HONOR SFU GREAT VAN LIER
In honor of the Norm Van Lier Scholarship Fund, Scott Norton of Norton Sports Management and Make My Day Mondays, is holding a fundraiser in which all are welcome to attend.
Van Lier ranks 10th all-time in scoring in Saint Francis men's basketball history, racking up 1,410 career points. He was a second round selection of the Chicago Bulls in the 1969 NBA draft and earned three trips to the NBA All-Star game in his 10-year career.
The event will take place Monday Jan. 30 beginning at 6 p.m. at Public House Chicago, located at 400 North State Street. A $20 donation is suggested but is not required. The fundraiser will launch the 2012 non-violence and scholarship initiatives.
