On The Road Again: Flash travels to FDU

FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)

On Dec. 3, 2011, the Saint Francis women's basketball team defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 69-56, at DeGol Arena.  For the Red Flash, it was the third victory in what would become a season-long four-game win streak.  For the Knights, it was the latest setback in a disappointing 3-7 start.

What a difference a month makes.

Saint Francis has struggled to one win in its last seven games, while FDU has surged to six victories in its last eight games.

While the SFU offense continues to find its way, its defense has been out of sorts as of late, most recently giving up 85 to Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart in Loretto.  Not since 1991-92 – Jenny Przekwas' first season – have the Flash given up that many points to NEC opponents in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile in Hackensack, senior Mariyah Laury led Fairleigh Dickinson to a sweep of the NEC's Brooklyn-based contingent last week and extended her streak of 20-point performances to four in the process.  Laury is the reigning league player of the week.

Next up for the Red Flash is a Monday date in West Long Branch with Monmouth.
