SFU wraps up Jersey trip Monday night at Monmouth

FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)

Two days after facing one of the hottest teams in the Northeast Conference, Saint Francis turns its attention to THE hottest squad in the league, Monmouth.

The winners of seven straight, the Hawks have rolled to an 8-2 record since they fell to the Flash, 82-69, in Loretto on Dec. 5.  The up-swing, to the surprise of pretty much no one, coincided with the return of All-NEC guard Alysha Womack.

The junior has tallied over 20 points in each of her team's past two wins, including 27 off the bench against Robert Morris on Saturday.

The Red Flash took a step in the right direction on Saturday with a gutsy, 60-58, win at Fairleigh Dickinson.  The victory not only marked the first time this year that SFU has registered consecutive road wins, but it also upped its record to 3-1 in games decided by three points or less.

The Hawks took both regular season meetings between the teams last year and provided the only blemish on SFU's 14-1 record at home.  The Flash, however, won the teams' third meeting of the year to claim its 11th NEC title.
