Saint Francis welcomes LIU Brooklyn on Saturday in a Northeast Conference matchup with postseason implications. The Red Flash and Blackbirds are each a part of a six-team logjam for fourth place in the league standings, entering the game with 4-4 NEC marks.
After a pair of lopsided home losses to two of the NEC's top teams two weeks ago, the Red Flash are eager to gain some traction on its home court as it enters a critical point in its season.
SFU has slumped to a 1-3 record against the league's top three teams heading into the weekend, but is 3-1 against teams currently ranked fourth or lower.
Eight of Saint Francis' final 10 opponents this season fall into the latter category.
With an 11-1 non-conference record under its belt, LIU Brooklyn (formerly Long Island University) has a signature NEC win in its, 74-64, triumph at Sacred Heart. On Monday, LIU evened its league record by handing Wagner its 12th consecutive loss, 67-60.
Saint Francis has won six of its last seven meetings with LIU, including the last five.
