Flash women look to snap skid at Bryant on Saturday

FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)

Saint Francis looks for its first win of 2012 when it visits Bryant for its first Northeast Conference contest since early December.  The Red Flash takes on the Bulldogs at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the first game of the NortheastConference.TV webcast package.

The Red Flash are 2-0 in early league action, but have struggled to a 2-6 record away from DeGol Arena including a three losses in a seven-day road trip to the Pacific Northwest.  Saint Francis' current seven-game swing includes stops in five states and will officially end when the Flash plays its first home game in 34 days on Jan. 14.

SFU has played once previously in Smithfield, falling, 89-76, on Feb. 11, 2010.  In the series' three meetings, the home team has come up on top, including last season's, 73-59, Flash victory in Loretto.  The 2011-12 campaign will mark the first season during which Saint Francis U. and Bryant play twice.

The Bulldogs have won two of their last three games and, most recently, posted a, 64-54, home win over Army on Jan. 3.  Bryant is 4-1 at home on the season.

Bryant is led by Naana Ankoma-Mensa, who averages 12.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per outing.
