Saint Francis U travels to Kent State for the first time since the 1985-86 season on Thursday for a 7 p.m. contest. The Golden Flashes represent the last of SFU's seven non-conference road opponents this season.
While the Red Flash looks to snap an 11-game skid dating back to last season, Kent State has enjoyed middling success so far in 2012-13.
The Golden Flashes and Red Flash have played two common opponents to date: Kent State prevailed at Youngstown State (85-78 in OT) and fell at Bucknell (76-60).
Senior forward Chris Evans is one of two Kent State players who average double-digit point totals with 16.0. Senior guard Randal Holt averages 13.4 points per contest and leads the Flashes with 24 assists.
Through nine non-conference games a season ago, SFU sat at 1-8, playing four of those contests in the friendly confines of the Stokes Center.
After today's game, SFU returns home to tipoff a three-game home-stand against Cornell (4-6) on Dec. 28.
