LORETTO, Pa. (Feb. 17, 2012) – The Saint Francis University men's basketball team closes its home 2011-12 slate Saturday with an 11:30 a.m. tipoff against the Bryant Bulldogs in DeGol Arena.

- SFU holds the second-best rebounding defense in league action while Bryant ranks 11th. The Bulldog surrender near five more rebounds a game to their opponents than the Red Flash do.
- Despite losing their starting point guard after the first two conference games of the season, the Red Flash still rank four in NEC action in assists per game.
- Saint Francis brings in the fourth most steals in league action while Bryant sits last in the conference in swipes per game in league play.
- The Red Flash have struggled with turnovers this season and average more turnovers than any other team in the conference.
- Bryant is a hot shooting 3-point team and comes into Saturday's game averaging the fourth most 3-point makes a game in NEC play. The Red Flash rank 10th in 3-point makes a game with two fewer on average than the Bulldogs.
- In league play,
Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) ranks in the Top 10 in scoring and in the top five in rebounding, field goal percentage and blocks. Eatherton is the only player in the Northeast Conference with such rankings.
- Kameron Ritter enters Saturday's game ranking fourth in the league in steals and averages just three steals a game fewer than entire Bryant team.
- Bryant's Ben Altit and SFU's Eatherton enter Saturday's meeting tied for third in Northeast Conference play both average 1.40 blocks a contest in league play.
- Bryant's Frankie Dobbs averages nearly 40 minutes a game more than any other player in the league. No player for the Flash averagers more than 33 minutes a conference contest.

Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) became the first freshman in two seasons to post a double-double Thursday. The double-double was the first for the Flash from a player other than Eatherton
- In his last six games, Brown has topped double-digits four times after hitting double figures just once in the first 17 games of the season.
- In the first meeting between the Bulldogs and the Red Flash, Eatherton posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Bulldogs did limit Eatherton to just 5-of-15 shooting from the field, a season low at the time.
- Bryant was powered in the first meeting in January by 23 point off the bench from Alex Francis, who also added eight rebounds.
- Ritter posted on his best performances of the season in the first meeting with Bryant. The sophomore registered 10 points, six rebounds, four assists, four steals and zero turnovers at the Chace Athletic Center.
ERVIN LOOKS FOR CONSISTENCY
Anthony Ervin (Chesterfield, Va./Fork Union Military Academy) started the season slow and averaged just 5.4 points a game in his first five contests but the junior then rattled off 10 double-digit efforts in his next 11 games. Ervin of late has struggled to find consistency, the junior has had just five double-digit efforts in his last 10 games but two of those games, Ervin has tallied 20 or more points. The guard also dropped a career-best 27 points in that span but followed it up with just four points. Thursday the junior tallied 16 points Thursday.
LAW FIRM OF BROWN, JACKSON AND WHYATT
The freshman trio of
Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter),
Ollie Jackson (Dallas, Texas/Pinkston ) and
Stephon Whyatt (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) have been impressive during their rookie seasons and look to be starting to step up into starting rolls. Brown recorded a season-high 19 points and 10 rebounds. It was the first double-double for a Red Flash player at DeGol Arena this season, while it is the first for an SFU freshman since February 2010. After some midseason struggles
Stephon Whyatt (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) has turned into a double-digit scoring machine with five consecutive games in double-digits and six double figure efforts in his last seven games.
Ollie Jackson (Dallas, Texas/Pinkston ) is still struggling to find consistency but when he is at his best the rookie guard is one of the best 3-point shooters in the conference. Jackson recorded a season-high 24 points against NEC leading LIU Brooklyn but struggled in his next contest and registered just four points against Mount St. Mary's. In home games this season Jackson shoots 43-percent from the field and 45.2-percent from beyond the 3-point arc. Jackson struggled Thursday against CCSU going
HOME SWEET HOME
The Red Flash have enjoyed their home floor a solid amount this season with four of the team's five wins coming in DeGol Arena. Five of the Red Flashes' home losses have come by five points for fewer and in thee SFU has had a shot to win or tie the game at the buzzer. SFU shoots 7-percent better at home then its season average and its scoring average rises nine points in contests at DeGol Arena as opposed to its season average. Saint Francis does allow their opponents to score more in home games but only 1.2 point more than its season average.
Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) sees his season scoring average rise two points in home games and the sophomore also shoots a crazy 76.2-percent from the field in home games. Eatherton has only missed 24 shots in 101 shot attempts in DeGol Arena this season.
EATHERTON ONE OF THE NEC'S BEST
Eatherton has six double-doubles in conference play this season all of them have come on the road as the sophomore went from a bench player seeing limited minutes last season, to a starting role in 2011-12. The Hershey, Pa. native leads the Red Flash in both scoring (14.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg). Eatherton is the only player in Northeast Conference to rank in the Top 10 in scoring (10th, 15.9ppg) and the top five in rebounds (Fourth, 8.6 rpg), field goal percentage (third, 61.6-percent) and blocks (Third, 1.40 bpg). Eatherton holds these numbers while averaging the 18th most minutes per game in the conference, almost three minutes a game fewer than his CCSU counterpart Ken Horton.
