Saint Francis visits Robert Morris for the second time this season in the opening round of the 2012 Northeast Conference Championships presented by Ruby Tuesday on Saturday.
The Red Flash enters as the tournament's fifth seed as it attempts to defend its 11th NEC Tournament title it nailed down just a season ago. SFU is 39-6 all-time in league postseason play, including a 6-1 mark under fifth-year head coach Susan Robinson Fruchtl.
Saint Francis has played the Colonials seven times in the NEC tournament, having won five of those meetings. Robert Morris, however, is 10-1 on its home floor in the postseason.
RMU took both ends of a home-and-home series this season, including a 77-65 decision at the Sewall Center on Feb. 11. The Colonials have gone 5-1 in its past six games, including its pair of wins against the Flash.
Saint Francis came away victorious in three of its final four games of the regular season, finishing up with a road win in its season finale over second seed Sacred Heart on Feb. 27.
The winner of today's game will advance to the semifinal round on Tuesday.
