Game #17 Preview: Sacred Heart at Saint Francis

FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)

The Saint Francis University Red Flash looks to rebound after four straight Northeast Conference setbacks Saturday afternoon with a televised matchup against Sacred Heart. The contest is the second of SFU's longest home stand of the season – four games.

The Pioneers (5-11; 3-2) are 1-3 over their last three games – all on the road – and are 2-8 away from the Pitt Center this season.  To date, SFU and SHU have played four common opponents.  Sacred Heart fell to Lehigh (91-77), at Lafayette (72-70) and Central Connecticut (84-78) but defeated Quinnipiac on Jan. 12, 80-74.

Senior guard Shane Gibson led the Pioneers in their most recent game at Robert Morris with 27 points and six total rebounds. He leads Sacred Heart's three players who average double-digit scoring totals, tossing in 18.8 points per game.

Saint Francis is 5-5 all time against the Pioneers in Sweet Loretto.

The Red Flash returns to action on Thursday when it hosts rival Robert Morris for a 7 p.m. game.
