“STEAL” ER NATION
Three players in the state of Pennsylvania rank in the top five nationally in steals per game. Jocelyn Floyd of Duquesne, Alex Bentley of Penn State and Alli Williams (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) of the Red Flash all sit in the top five nationally in steals per game. Floyd leads the nation in steals per game while Williams ranks first in the nation in steals per game by a forward. Williams boasts 65-total thefts on the season and needs 40-more steals to match Maureen Logan's single-season school record. Williams racked up 89 total steals last season and the junior is tied for sixth in career steals at SFU.

SETTING THE STAGE
Saint Francis hopes to end its two-game losing streak Saturday against conference rival Wagner, who SFU has knocked off four consecutive times entering Saturday's meeting. The Red Flash have controlled the series in Loretto winning 20 of 27 all-time meetings in DeGol Arena. The last time the two teams met the Red Flash claimed a 85-68 win in Loretto to sweep the season series against the Seahawks. Saint Francis comes into Saturday's game in a four-way tie for second place in the Northeast Conference. Wagner comes in with a 1-5 conference mark and a 2-15 overall record. Both the Seahawks and the Flash are coming off winless weeks as SFU dropped games to Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart and Wagner fell to CCSU and Bryant. SFU ranks second in scoring offense and third in field goal percentage entering Saturday while the Seahawks rank last in scoring offense, scoring defense and field goal defense. Saint Francis ranks first in the NEC in 3-point defense, which should be key against Wagner's 3-point offense that sits seventh in 3-point field goal percentage.

Alli Williams (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) ranks first in the Northeast Conference in scoring, fourth in rebounding and second in steals. Since the start of league action, Williams stands as the only player averaging over 20-points a game (22.5 ppg) and she also sits as one of just four players in NEC action averaging a double-double per game. Williams also leads the conference in steals per game in league contests with 28 swipes in six league contests. Nickia Gibbs (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) sits second on the team in scoring averaging 11.2 points a game. The senior averaged 18 points a game on the FDU-Monmouth trip but last weekend posted one of her worst weekends of the season racking up 19 total turnovers and scoring just nine points. Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk), the top 3-point threat for the Flash, continues to struggle with constancy. The sophomore guard posted 23 points against Wright State and followed it up with a 13 point showing against Notre Dame. However since league play began, Hayward has hit double figures just once and owns six 3-point makes in six games. After a rough game against Sacred Heart, Shene Fleming (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade-Julienne), who ranks second on the team in rebounds, posted a solid showing against Quinnipiac with six points on 3-of-6 shooting and eight rebounds.

Wagner enters the weekend 2-15 but both wins this season for the Seahawks have come on the road. The offense has struggled this season for the Seahawks as they have been held under 50 points seven times this season including a season low 28 against Syracuse. Jordyn Peck leads the Seahawks in scoring this season averaging 10.6 points a game but has started just four games for Wagner. Peck since the start of the conference play has averaged 17.5 points a game.

MAKING THE GRADE
Highlighted by an impressive 35 perfect 4.0 grade-point-averages, 294 Saint Francis University student-athletes have been named to the Athletic Department's Fall 2012 Academic Honor Roll. Red Flash athletes must earn a GPA of 3.0 or high for inclusion on the list. Women's basketball placed two of the 35 perfect 4.0 GPA as both Brittany Lilley (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and Nickia Gibbs (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) earned unblemished grade point averages in the fall.

The department also recognized the 125 Red Flash who posted a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Saint Francis student-athletes stretched their string of semesters with a GPA of 3.0-or-higher to 28 – a run spanning 14 years. The Red Flash posted a collective 3.122 GPA for the fall semester. Men's golf was the top men's team with a cumulative GPA of 3.411, while field hockey led the way for the women with a GPA of 3.483. Women's swimming posted five perfect 4.0's on the list, the most of any sport.

FOR THE RECORD
Alli Williams (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) has cracked several key career statistical plateaus this season including recording her 1,000th point and 600th rebound. Williams also hit the 200-career steal mark. The junior now ranks as just the third player in school history to total 1,000-points, 600-rebounds and 200 steals in her career joining Beth Swink and Jess Zinobile. Williams currently ranks tied-16th all-time at SFU in scoring (1,125), 12th in rebounding (655) and tied for 6th in steals (200). Williams is not the only current SFU student-athlete in the 1,000-point club, as Brittany Lilley (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) sits 19th on the all-time scoring list with 1,075-points.
