LORETTO, Pa. (Jan. 26, 2013) – The Saint Francis University women's basketball team knocked off Wagner Saturday in DeGol Arena, 80-43.
Alli Williams (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) put together her 12th double-double performance of the season to lead the Red Flash (10-8, 5-2) to a big win against the Seahawks (2-16, 1-6). Saint Francis took command early in the first half and never looked back as the Flash ended a two-game conference losing skid. Jordyn Peck led the way for the Seahawks with 12 points and five rebounds. Williams tallied 19 points and 16 rebounds while
Rebecca Keegan (Jessup, Pa./Valley View) and
Nickia Gibbs (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) each added 10.
Saint Francis punctuated its most complete game of the season with a dominant second half. The Red Flash ran their lead out to as many as 42 points to cruise to the win against. All but two players registered at least one point for SFU as the Flash bench registered a season-high 38 points, led by 10-points from Keegan.
Rebecca Sparks (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) came off bench and tied with Williams for the team lead in assists with five. Gibbs recovered from an 11-turnover performance Monday by recording 10 points, four assists three steals and zero turnovers.
The Red Flash started the game well and held the Seahawks to just one field goal in the first eight minutes of the game. Saint Francis forced Wagner into six early turnovers and turned the Seahawk giveaways into eight points. Wagner cut the early 12-point advantage in half with a pair of 3-point makes. The Red Flash turned on the offense and finished the half on a 28-15 run and took a 40-21 lead into the locker room. Williams led the Flash at the break with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Gibbs also scored in double figures in the first half racking up 10.
The Red Flash return to action Monday against in-state conference rival Robert Morris inside DeGol Arena at 7 p.m.
GAME NOTES
- The Red Flash held the Seahawks without a field goal for the first 7:48 of the game and ran out to a 12-0 advantage.
- SFU's bench registered 38 points just five points fewer than the entire Wagner team.

Shene Fleming (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade-Julienne) posted eight points and five rebounds Saturday on four-of-six shooting in just 16 minutes of action.

Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) racked up a season-high four steals to lead an 18-steal performance by the Red Flash.

Brooklyn Taylor (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) connected on a pair of 3-pointers against Wagner and tallied eight points while also picking up two assists and two steals.
