Game #20 Preview: Saint Francis at LIU Brooklyn

The Saint Francis U men's basketball team ends a four-game home stand by hitting the road Thursday night for a 7 p.m. contest at LIU Brooklyn. The Red Flash look to end a seven-game losing streak that dates back to Jan. 5.

After beginning conference play with three consecutive losses, the Blackbirds (10-10, 5-3) are working on a five-game win streak. In its last time out, LIU Brooklyn snuck past NEC leader Bryant 79-78 on the road for its fifth conference win of the season.

The Blackbirds are led on offense and defense by Jamal Olasewere. The 6-7 forward is averaging 18.8 points per game and 8.2 rebounds a contest as well, to lead the team. Olasewere has produced 29 steals on the year as well, tops on the Blackbirds squad.

Saint Francis is 8-2 all time in Brooklyn against the Blackbirds.

Umar Shannon (Atlantic City, N.J./Atlantic City) has been sidelined for the previous three games with a lower body injury and Stephon Mosley (Harlem, N.Y./Seton Hall Prep) has been out with a concussion for two contests. Following Thursday night's matchup with LIU Brooklyn, the Red Flash men make the short trip over to St. Francis Brooklyn for a showdown with the Terriers this Saturday at 5 p.m.
