BOX SCORE BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (Dec. 29, 2013) – The Saint Francis University women's basketball team concluded its non-conference schedule with a loss at Bowling Green, 81-66, on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Flash (2-9) was led by
Aisha Brock (Jacksonville, Fla./Potter's House Christian Academy), who was one point shy of tying her career-high, as the sophomore posted 15 points.
Alli Williams (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) dropped 18 points for SFU and tracked down a team-high eight rebounds. The Falcons (10-2) saw five different players reach double-figures in points, including 22 from Erica Donovan.
BG took a 19-2 lead in just over three minutes of play to open the game. Saint Francis responded half-way through the period with a 9-0 run, highlighted by the play of
Aisha Brock (Jacksonville, Fla./Potter's House Christian Academy), who scored five straight points in the span.
SFU later went over five minutes without scoring; Bowling Green scored 18 points to extend its lead during the drought for the Red Flash. Saint Francis then embarked on a 15-1 run to close out the first half, BG led 53-34 at halftime.
The Flash held the Falcons from scoring for four and half minutes to open the second period, but only managed to score four points of their own in the span.
SFU managed to close the margin to 14 with under two minutes to play which forced a timeout from the Falcons.
Saint Francis led the points in the paint battle, 34-28, and led in fast break points, 19-14. The 52 points given up in the first half was the second-most this season.
Saint Francis will open its 2013-14 Northeast Conference schedule on Jan. 4 at Sacred Heart, tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. SFU last faced
the Pioneers in the 2013 NEC Semifinals, the Red Flash advanced after a 83-67 win in Fairfield, Conn.
