FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)
The Red Flash plays its final road non-conference game of the 2013-14 season when it travels west to visit the University of Denver Pioneers. Due to final exams and the holidays, SFU is playing for just the third time in 23 days.
Saint Francis is looking to get back on a winning track after a pair of tough setbacks to Duquesne and Drexel. Despite the losses, the Frankies turned in their third and fourth straight strong efforts since a lackluster loss to American on Nov. 30.
Denver is 1-2 since its season-long three-game win streak was snapped by UC Irvine on Dec. 21 (63-50). On Sunday, the Pioneers fell 60-54 in double overtime at UTEP. Denver, which has won 22 games in each of the past two seasons, is 3-2 at Magness Arena this season.
Brett Olson and Chris Udofia are the Pioneers' top scoring threats, averaging 14.5 and 12.5 points per game, respectively. Cam Griffin is UD's top rebounder, pulling down 7.3 boards per contest.
Saint Francis closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule on Jan. 4 when it hosts NJIT.
