BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 15, 2013) - On day one of the James Brown Invitational the No. 10 Saint Francis U bowling team downed top-ranked Central Missouri on its way to a 4-1 record.
The Red Flash are now 7-1 against top-10 teams since the winter break. It was a tightly contested match between SFU and Central Missouri but the Flash filled every frame in the deciding fourth game to win the match.
"Obviously the ladies did a great job in the Central Missouri match," head coach
Tom Falbo said. "Patience and solid shot-making the last two baker games was the difference. We fought through transition the next two matches, and we've set our plans to do a better job tomorrow. The last two matches we settled in with our depth once again providing hot hands and stronger scoring."
Match scores for the day finished as follows:
SFU 777
No. 1 Central Missouri 769
SFU 714
Coppin State 596
SFU 693
No. 14 Norfolk State 853
SFU 782
North Carolina Central University 753
SFU 788

Individually the SFU bowlers finished their days with the following baker frame averages:

"Sarah's performance today was a culmination of both her physical and mental game coming together," Falbo said. "She had a great angle to the pocket and executed well. Lauren and Ashley also had good consistency throughout the day."
Saint Francis continues the three-day James Brown Invitational Saturday with five traditional game matches.
