BOX SCORE FAIRFIELD, Conn. (Feb. 18, 2013) – Sacred Heart used a 22 point effort from Gabriell Washington to take down the Saint Francis U women's basketball team, 81-56, at the William H. Pitt Center on Monday night.

The Red Flash (13-12, 8-6) were led by Alli Williams (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) who posted a 10 point, 11 rebound night for her 19th double-double of the season. The Pioneers (18-7, 10-3) saw four players register double-digit points to earn their ninth consecutive win. SHU shot 50% from the field in the game.

Sacred Heart started the game on a 9-0 run as SFU was held without a field goal for nearly four minutes until Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) knocked down a three-pointer. The Flash responded with a seven point run of their own to get within two. With the game tied at 13 at 12:28, the Pioneers went on to score 19 of the next 23 points to take a 32-17 lead into the third media break.

SFU was able to narrow the margin to 11 after a small run to start the second half. The Pioneers extended the lead to 20 at 11:24 to put the game out of reach.

Rebecca Keegan (Jessup, Pa./Valley View) was the team leader with 12 points, which tied a career high for the junior center. Hailey Carangelo (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon Catholic) scored eight points off the bench for the Red Flash, one shy of tying her season high.

Saint Francis will return home to Sweet Loretto as they take on Monmouth Saturday at 4 p.m.
